The Most Outrageous Car Ever to Race at Le Mans

In 1971, Porsche entered the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a 917/20 painted in a livery so audacious it became instantly legendary. Nicknamed the "Pink Pig" das Truffelschwein, the car was decorated with butcher's cuts of meat across its wide, experimental body, a joke by the Porsche design team that became one of motorsport's most iconic paint schemes. Driven by Reinhold Joest and Willi Kauhsen, it finished eighth overall despite a late-race accident. The car itself was a one-off aerodynamic experiment. The livery was immortal.
