The Car That Defied Gravity

Le Mans, June 1999. In practice and then again during the race itself, the Mercedes-Benz CLR became one of the most haunting images in endurance racing history. At high speed on the Mulsanne Straight, aerodynamic forces lifted the car clean off the ground, a full barrel roll at racing speed, the driver walking away unharmed. Mercedes withdrew from the race entirely. The CLR never raced again.

It was a moment that exposed the razor-thin margin between engineering ambition and catastrophe, and it has never been forgotten. This T-shirt is a tribute to that extraordinary, terrifying, unforgettable moment at La Sarthe.
